ABOUT SHARON
The arts sector has been hit hard with cancellations and disruption in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Sharon Givoni has put together answers to some of the most common question’s artists ask about their legal rights.
Sharon Givoni has 25 years of experience in IP and Commercial Law. She has clients Australia-wide and from all walks of life.
With experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, she can assist businesses with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as assignments, licensing, confidentiality agreements, terms and conditions for websites, privacy law, employment matters, distributorship agreements, terms and conditions and partnership agreements.
She regularly prepares and files trade mark and design applications on behalf of her clients, and has acted in Trade Marks Office hearings as well as run matters in the Federal Court of Australia when her client’s brands or products have been copied.
Sharon is passionate about interior design and keenly follows trends. She has many clients in this industry having drafted tailored terms and conditions as well as filed their trade marks and protected furniture designs. She also has clients in the areas of lighting, furniture, wallpaper, flowers, furnishings, homewares and the retail of all these products.
She has delivered lectures and talks at various prestigious institutions and events such as RMIT, The Reed Gift Fair, the University of Melbourne, Virgin Australia Festival, Family Business Australia and the Kangan Institute.
Sharon is affiliated with the Australian Furniture Association, the Law Institute of Victoria, the Creative Women’s Circle, Intellectual Property Association of Australia and New Zealand and The Design Coach.
